Boston Beer:

Beat earnings estimates. The company posted $1.21, beating our Zacks Consensus Estimate of $1.11.

Missed revenue estimates. The company saw revenue figures of $215.1, missing our estimate of $218 million.

Net income decreased by $3 million or $0.19 per diluted share from the fourth quarter of 2014. This decrease was primarily due to the decrease in net revenue and increases in advertising, promotional and selling expenses that were only partially offset by increased gross margin.

“We believe we have lost share, as new craft brewers enter the market and more existing craft brewers are expanding their regional distribution, with the result that drinkers are seeing more choices, including a wave of new beers in all markets,” said Jim Koch, Chairman and Founder of the company.

SAM was down $0.66, or 0.36%, to $183.77 as of 5:00 PM ET in after hours trading shortly after its earnings report was released.
