  • FINANCE – On Monday, the US stocks were mixed at the trade close. This is amid the gains in sectors such as Oil & Gas, Utilities and Financials that lifted the shares higher. Meanwhile, the loss in sectors such as Technology, Consumer Services, and Basic Materials dragged the shares lower.

    The Dow Jones Industrial Average increased 0.76% at end of trade in NYSE. On one hand, the S&P 500 index jumped 0.56%. The Nasdaq Composite, on the other hand, declined 0.38%.

    On the Dow Jones Industrial Average’s session, the best performers were International Business Machines, Chevron Corporation, and McDonald’s Corporation. IBM made an increase of 3.80% or 4.39 points to trade at 120.06 at the close. Meanwhile, the Chevron Corporation gained 3.67% or 4.21% to close at 118.94. The McDonald’s Corporation surged 2.06% or 3.64 points to 180.39 in late trade.

    Australia stocks traded higher on Tuesday

    The session’s worst performers were Apple Inc, Goldman Sachs Group Inc, and Exxon Mobil Corp. The stocks in Apple Inc declined 2.84% or 5.89 points to end at 201.59. Meanwhile, the Goldman Sachs Group Inc dropped 0.42% or 0.97 points to close at 228.72. The Exxon Mobil Corp recorded a decrease of 0.38% or 0.32 points to 81.64.

    Therapix Biosciences Ltd, Adomani Inc, and Datawatch Corporation were the top performers on the NASDAQ Composite. Meanwhile, the worst ones were Clearside Biomedical Inc, Avadel Pharmaceuticals PLC, and Diana Containerships Inc.

    On the New York Stock Exchange, the increasing stocks surpassed the decreasing ones by 1935 to 1134 and 76 ended unchanged.
