Masco Corporation (MAS – Analyst Report) is one of the leading cabinetry manufacturers in the U.S. and holds one of the largest shares in faucets. The company is also one of the major national installers of insulation for new homes. Its popular brands include KraftMaid and Merillat cabinets, Delta and Hansgrohe faucets, Behr paint and Milgard windows.  

Demand for Masco’s products has been benefiting from an increase in new home construction and home improvement activities in North America. The repair and remodel market recovery is also gaining traction. However, international revenue is hurt by unfavorable foreign currency translations.

Investors should also note that earnings estimate for MAS has mostly been stable for sometime. However, MAS has an impressive earnings history. The home improvement and building products company has posted three positive earnings surprise in the past four quarters, with an average positive surprise of 10.02%.

Earnings: MAS beats on earnings. Our consensus earnings estimate called for EPS of 26 cents /share, and the company reported EPS of 29 cents instead. Investors should note that these figures take out stock option expenses.

Revenues: MAS reported revenues of $1.72 billion. This surpassed our consensus estimate of $1.71 billion.
