The Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge are available as of Friday and many carriers and retailers are offering the device on contract, but customers can also purchase the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge unlocked.
Unlocked devices are compatible with GSM networks, which are the standard overseas; however, some U.S. networks, including AT&T and T-Mobile, also run on GSM frequency bands. Apple Pay is accepted only at retailers that have NFC hardware, which is about 10 percent of all retailers.
